We appreciate that bringing your pet to the vets can sometimes be a time of anxiety. At Dacre House we aim to make your visit as stress-free as possible.

Our experienced receptionists are willing to answer any general healthcare questions you may have and to give advice on day-to-day issues of pet ownership. We also have a range of pet care leaflets available on reception and information about local kennels and catteries, feed suppliers, training centres and more.

At both Southborough and Pembury, the consulting rooms are bright and well-equipped. Vets have quick and easy access to each patient's previous medical history during the consultation and are able to print out estimates and information sheets for you to take away with you.

Diagnostics

We carry out a large proportion of our diagnostic work in-house. Getting results quickly is not simply about peace-of-mind: reaching a speedy diagnosis can greatly increase the chances of treatment being successful. We are constantly investing in new equipment and our current facilities include:

Rapid-test kits for diseases such as FeLV/FIV, Giardia, lungworm

Operating theatres

At Southborough we have two operating theatres, both kitted out to meet the needs of our varied patients. We routinely carry out:

Neutering
Lump removal
Wound repair
Abdominal surgery
Orthopaedics
Dentistry

Since 2018 we have also been able to offer laparoscopic surgery, allowing us to carry out a number of procedures by 'keyhole' technique - this is less invasive and gives quicker recovery times.

The surgical facilities at Pembury are more limited but we are able to carry out minor procedures in our smaller patients and are planning to increase the provision in the future.

Pharmacy

If the vet recommends a medication during your visit to the clinic, you will usually be able to collect it straight away. We can also supply written prescriptions. Our stock includes:

Animal feeds and prescription diets
Flea, tick and worm treatments
Prescription veterinary medicines
Supplements
Shampoos and washes
Grooming tools
Collars, toys and chews

The Southborough dispensary is large and well-stocked. Pembury carries a more limited range but if you are after a particular item, please ask - our supplier delivers to both clinics daily, so any items ordered are usually in stock by lunchtime the next working day.

Kennels

Our kennel facilities in Southborough are located at the far end of the clinic, offering some peace and seclusion from the busyness elsewhere. These kennels provide accommodation for both day-cases and in-patients.
